2. Problems in oral English teaching in China
Teachers always complain that some students master English grammatical knowledge, and also they can pass English written test, however, they do not answer teacher’s questions initiatively in class. In addition, we can see this phenomenon: some students do very well in written test and get high scores. By contrast, their oral English are poor.
People all know that the final purpose of learning English is to use it, to exchange ideas with other people who speak English. But why they are still hard to express their opinions in oral after English studying for many years? Having collected a number of information, I find there are three main factors in oral English teaching and learning.
2.1 Status quo
As is known to all, language is the most important communicative instrument in society. Human beings depend on it to exchange ideas to achieve mutual understanding. Meanwhile, language also has national characteristics. Therefore, every language has

Analysts expect the consumer inflation to continue the downward trend in the coming months. However, a spike in the wholesale inflation last month suggested the fight against inflation will remain an arduous task.

The producer price index (PPI) accelerated to a three-year high of 8.2 percent in May on soaring energy prices, the NBS said on Wednesday. The PPI, which measures factory-gate prices, is believed to be a key leading indicator for the CPI and may lead to a rebound in consumer inflation.
FFXI Gil its own environment of existence and application.
As we know, children learn to speak mother tongue, but they can not recognize any Chinese words, and also they can speak Chinese. Why? The children have the environment of language, so they can imitate others. This proves that the suitable background environment plays an important role in learning foreign languages.
In our country, however, Chinese is the sole official language while English is a foreign language. The language environment is unitary. Students just learn and practise English by following their teachers in class. And the time in the class is limited, approximately 1.5 hours per day in average. What’s more, the language in the contact is by no means a native one.
Out of the class, students still use mother tongue to communicate with classmates and other people. Fewer or even none of them would apply English to practise and review what they have learned.
In such circumstance, students are hard to develop their oral English ability and improve their level. The lack of suitable background environment does harm to promote middle school students’ oral English ability.
